WafCharm Releases New Functions: Log Retention Period Setting and Log Intelligence

Los Angeles, CA - January, 2026 - Cyber Security Cloud, Inc. has announced the WafCharm feature release. WafCharm is an AWS WAF managed service designed to simplify AWS WAF deployment and operations. The updated WAF Log Storage enables organizations to flexibly set and manage their log retention period. In addition, the enhanced Bot Dashboard, now equipped with the new Log Intelligence, allows users to categorize access by use case and quickly identify malicious bot traffic and DDoS Signature, further strengthening security operations.

Background on New Function Development

In recent years, access patterns to web applications have diversified, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish between legitimate access and attacks. On top of protecting your web application with WAF (Web Application Firewall), it is also critical to investigate and analyze WAF logs to identify unauthorized access that may have passed through the WAF and to verify any false positives or false negatives involving legitimate traffic.

WafCharm includes a dashboard that allows users to easily drill down into and analyze WAF logs. However, due to limitations on the number of logs that could be stored, users experienced challenges in conducting long-term trend analysis and tracking intermittent or recurring attacks.

Additionally, when it comes to identifying malicious bot traffic that may add unnecessary load on web applications, users previously had limited visibility into access patterns and difficulty distinguishing between legitimate bots and malicious bots.

To address these challenges, Cyber Security Cloud has released two new capabilities as an update to the existing WafCharm:

  • New WAF Log Storage: The new Log Retention Period setting enables users to flexibly manage and extend retention period of WAF logs.
  • New Bot Dashboard: The new Log Intelligence function categorizes bots by different characteristics in a single view, making it easy to identify malicious traffic.

Enhanced WAF Log Retention Period

The updated WafCharm enables users to flexibly manage the retention period for their WAF logs.

Previously, WafCharm allowed a maximum of one million logs to be stored. As a result, when traffic volume increases, older logs could be overwritten.

With the new Log Retention Period setting added to WafCharm console, users can set their desired log retention period directly on the WAF Log Retrieval Configuration page on WafCharm console, aligning with their security policies and operational needs. This ensures that the configured amount of historical log data remains accessible for forensic activities and post mortem.

By enabling access to historical logs during incident investigations, organizations can more easily secure the data necessary for root cause analysis and the development of recurrence prevention measures.

Accordingly, the WAF Log Storage fee has been added to the monthly WafCharm subscription. Each plan includes storage for up to one million WAF logs, and any usage beyond that threshold will incur usage-based charges.

Log Intelligence added to Bot Dashboard

Log Intelligence is a new WafCharm’s Dashboard feature that categorizes and detect bot access, making it easy to identify malicious traffic.

Traditionally, detecting malicious bot traffic required advanced security expertise and deep technical knowledge. However, with the updated Bot Dashboard, users can easily distinguish malicious bots—often difficult to differentiate from legitimate users or benign bots—as well as mechanical traffic used in DDoS attacks.

Log Intelligence enables users to identify malicious bot traffic on a dashboard, without specialized knowledge of AWS analytics services such as Amazon Athena or security expertise. In addition, WafCharm’s dedicated customer support team handles the creation and customization of WAF rules necessary to block these identified bot traffic, reducing the operational burden on the security team.

Furthermore, when leveraged together with enhanced WAF Log Storage, Bot Dashboard enables long-term log analysis, making it easier to investigate recurring attacks, identify sudden spikes in traffic, and implement effective countermeasures.

About WafCharm

WafCharm is an AWS WAF managed service to streamline WAF operations on public cloud platforms.

The advantage of WafCharm is its ability to streamline complex yet critical WAF operational tasks. With a wide range of features such as automatic rule deployment and automated IP blocklisting, it eliminates the need for manual work such as creating and updating WAF rules and managing IP lists, allowing these tasks to be fully handled by WafCharm. This allows organizations to significantly reduce the cost and time required to operate WAF efficiently.

In addition, WafCharm dashboard allows users to visualize the current threat landscape and the effectiveness of WAF. Organizations can optimize their security posture without specialized security expertise or advanced log analysis skills.

WafCharm includes 24/7 customer service, providing peace of mind when responding to false positives or unexpected events.

By leveraging WafCharm, organizations can strengthen their cloud security environment with no security engineer overhead while minimizing the operational burden of manual WAF management.
